WTM Pit Selection

What are the 2026 WTM Pit Selection Dates? 

Pit reservations will open in three waves based on your qualification status.

If this is your first Tough Mudder endurance event, you'll choose your pit space during the general selection phase. If you don’t actively select a pit, one will be assigned to you automatically.

Registered participants will receive an email invitation to choose their pit space based on the following schedule:

• Elite Contenders – 28th May at 3pm BST / 10am EST
• Contenders – 1st June at 3pm BST / 10am EST
• General Selection – 3rd June at 3pm BST / 10am EST 

What is the qualification criteria for Elite Contender and Contender? 

Athletes can qualify for Contender and Elite Contender status by meeting certain eligibility requirements at 2025/6 Tough Mudder Infinity events, 2025 Europe’s Toughest Infinity,  2024 and 2025 Toughest Mudder events, and 2025/6 Spartan Ultra events, not through application. See Section 1.06 for Contender Status Eligibility requirements in the 2026 World’s Toughest Mudder Competition Rules.

Qualification lists will be updated up until and including Tough Mudder Infinity Philly (23rd May).

I’m looking to qualify for contender status at Infinity Michigan and/or Infinity Scotland. What do I do bearing in mind the event is after the pit selection date?

If you're aiming to qualify at Infinity Michigan and/or Infinity Scotland, which takes place after pit selection opens, please contact the Customer Service email ([e-mail]) after the event, with proof of distance achieved. They will then be able to assist you. 

How does Pit Selection Work? 

You will be sent an email which will contain your personal pit selection code, status and instructions for 2026 World’s Toughest Mudder Pit Selection. 

When you make your Pit selection, please be sure to use the same participant information (first name, last name, and email address) used to register for WTM 2026 in Ticket Socket. 

Instructions:

1. Go to the Pit Selection Page (This will be provided to you in your Pit Selection email).
2. Press the “Tickets” button.
3. Enter the Access Code included in your Pit Selection email
4. Press the “Buy on Map” button on the right side.
5. The system will auto-select a space, you can press the delete button on the right under “Your Tickets”
6. Select a space on the map.
7. Press the “Checkout” button.
8. Enter your First Name, Last Name and Email address (Please use the same email you used to register for WTM, which can be found above)
9. (Optional) If you plan to share a pit space with another participant, please put their name in the space provided.
10. Press the “Register” button.

A confirmation email will be sent to you. If you’d like to change your pit space, you can use the “View and Manage” link in your confirmation email (from [e-mail]) to go back to “My Registrations”.

You will need to cancel your current pit selection and use your code again to select a new one.

I’m part of a Team, how does pit selection work for me? 

If you are registered as part of a team, you will be able to reserve a 3m x 6m pit. All pits marked are 3m x 3m, so you will have to select 2 pits next to each other in order to get the correct sized area. 

If you are the Team Captain you will be emailed with your personal pit selection codes. This code allows you 2 uses. Please follow the steps above and ensure that you select 2 x pit spaces.

If you are part of a team but are not a team captain - luckily for you, you do not need to do anything, the responsibility is on your team captain. 

Does the Pit Selection booking work on a phone browser? 

Due to the volume of participants accessing the system during the Pit Selection schedule, we highly recommend you use a web browser rather than a phone browser.

If the browser is slow, please be patient and come back shortly later.

Why am I getting an error message when I try to select a Pit?

If you get an error message it is most likely that the system has pre-selected you a pit area. 

Find the space that was pre-selected, then click it. It will unselect the space and you are free to choose another selection. You may have to zoom in or out, and if you look to the right of the screen in the cart area, it will show the section, row, and spot that is selected. 

How do I know if a pit space is already booked? 

If a pit space is already booked then this will show as a greyed out dot and will be unavailable for selection. 

If the pit space is shown as white with a yellow ring this is the one currently selected for you. 

Any pit space showing in full yellow is available for selection.

What do I do if I select the wrong pit and hit checkout? 

If you happened ]to choose the wrong pit and hit checkout, then hit the arrow button at the top left, agree to leave, then it will take you back to the pit map to restart the process.

Please be aware that in the meantime someone else may have booked the Pit you initially wanted as none of them are reserved until completion of check out.
